A LITTLE HISTORY...
Past President and founding member, Bill Baldwin relocated to Raleigh from Dallas in 2003.  Having been in Raleigh for couple years Bill realized something was missing.  That something turned out to be “boat buddies”. Upon that realization Bill started the process to create a chapter here in the Triangle.  Mike Mayer, also a recent transplant, caught wind of this through another chapter publication and joined in the journey.  The rest, as they say, is  history.

Our charter was issued on January 15, 2005 by the Antique and Classic Boat Society.  Mike and Bill were both on hand to witness the official vote and to receive our official certificate.

We’ve come a long way since then and we hope you’ll join us in our journey, and remember, you don’t have to own a boat to join in the fun!

OUR MEMBERSHIP
Our members are a very diverse and interesting group.  But we all share two things in common.  The first is that we all love boats and boating.  The second thing is that we all like to get together and have a good time.  No water necessary.  Check out our Members Boats page to get a glimpse at the diversity and beauty of our growing membership.

OUR PURPOSE
The official purpose of our  organization, as stated in our constitution, shall be:
a. to provide a means through which individuals sharing a common interest in antique and classic boats can meet, share experience and information, exchange ideas, and generate enthusiasm for all aspects of their interest.
b. to communicate with and report to the membership regarding it’s activities, purposes and goals.
c. to promote and encourage a love and enjoyment of antique and classic boating at it’s highest level in all aspects.
d. to promote and sponsor boat shows and other activities for the benefit of the public and the members of our chapter.
e. to educate by conducting research and maintaining information regarding antique and classic boats such as restoration, classification, history, etc.
